Autodesk® Flame® Now Runs on AWS Cloud Enabling Secure Remote Work for Creative Teams

Written by HP Teradici | May 26, 2022

The rise in demand for entertaining content shows no signs of slowing down post-pandemic, with the video streaming market expected to grow 17% CAGR through 2032. For VFX and game development firms this means more opportunity for creative development and company growth in a very demanding industry. To help creative teams deliver content faster, we’re excited to share that Autodesk®, has recently announced that the Flame® Family of products now runs on Amazon Web Services (AWS)! Artists can connect to a Flame instance virtually anywhere with the security and performance of Teradici® CAS remote desktop software using PCoIP® technology.

Autodesk Flame on AWS will help artists and content creators use the Flame Family of products with seamless connectivity, that will help collaborate better remotely and have high-performance visualization, even with the most graphic-intensive workloads.

In support of the launch, the Autodesk Flame team has prepared the Autodesk Flame Family Cloud Reference Implementation Guide that includes Teradici CAS. The reference implementations will be particularly helpful for system integrators and M&E customers alike as they design and configure production environments according to their workflows and requirements.

“As part of our ongoing efforts to support a cloud-based production ecosystem for the media and entertainment industry, we recognized the importance of a highly performant remote desktop software to enable secure remote work,” said Steve McNeill, Director of Engineering at Autodesk. “Working on the cloud with Teradici CAS allows artists to be productive as they manage increasingly complex productions and timelines.”

“Embracing a fully cloud-based VFX workflow gives us the ability to recruit talent from around the world,” explains Preymaker founder Angus Kneale. “We have artists in New York, Los Angeles and London and regardless of where they’re working, we know they are securely accessing their work with Teradici CAS, and their experience feels like they’re working on a local workstation. With Autodesk Flame, the AWS cloud, and Teradici CAS, we can execute highly complicated, demanding and compute-intensive projects in a collaborative, cloud-based workflow.”

Flame on the cloud debuts with rich feature updates as well – a redesigned animation editor panel and Apple M series support. Get more details on the Autodesk AREA blog.
