This post was first published in November, 2022. It has been updated with new details for migrating to HP Anyware.
HP Anyware is the enterprise software that combines the best of two Emmy® Engineering Award-winning technologies, Teradici CAS (Cloud Access Software) and ZCentral Remote Boost. Anyware is built on the PC-over-IP (PCoIP®) protocol and provides flexibility, productivity, security, and collaboration features to users working on-premises, remotely, or in hybrid environments.
Since the official launch of HP Anyware in July 2022, existing Teradici CAS customers have continued to have access to their digital workspaces as HP Anyware is based on HP Teradici’s PCoIP technology.
Existing ZCentral Remote Boost customers will need to purchase the HP Anyware Professional subscription to receive continued software support. The move to HP Anyware Professional is necessary for ZCentral software customers as HP no longer supports older software like RGS 7. Additionally, ZCentral Remote Boost and ZCentral Connect V20 support ended in February 2023.
Our updated Migration Guide is designed to help ZCentral Remote Boost and RGS 7 users plan their migration to HP Anyware and ensure they don’t face any service disruptions.
The HP Anyware Professional enterprise software helps IT teams keep their power users productive, both graphics-intensive users and knowledge workers. HP Anyware offers lossless quality on par with a physical workstation and secured access through AES-256 encryption to users’ workstations without a VPN.
Based on the highly secure PCoIP protocol and built on the Teradici CAS software and licensing platform, HP Anyware now includes many of the features of ZCentral Remote Boost and ZCentral Connect. HP Anyware has also enhanced some of the capabilities of ZCentral Remote Boost, with the 23.06 Anyware product release adding features such as global language login support, multi-user collaboration, performance monitoring, and deployment flexibility.
With this in mind, users of RGS 7, ZCentral Remote Boost, and ZCentral Connect should plan to migrate to the HP Anyware license model as soon as possible since RGS 7 and ZCentral Remote Boost and ZCentral Connect V20 are no longer supported by HP.
Also note that from the start of 2023, a ZCentral Remote Boost license is no longer being included with a Z by HP workstation purchase. All customers who initially adopted a ZCentral Remote Boost license during 2022 as included software with their workstation purchase will need to renew access this year via the HP Anyware Professional subscription. If not renewed via the paid license model, ZCentral Remote Boost will have stopped working in January 2023 for these users.
Migrating to HP Anyware will ensure that customers are using software that is the most up-to-date and is still supported by HP. If you have more questions about why you should migrate to HP Anyware, our product managers have answered several in this Q&A post.
Our migration guide outlines the three steps you need to follow when migrating to HP Anyware.
