Developers, researchers, and business leaders attend the NVIDIA GTC conference to preview groundbreaking technologies related to artificial intelligence and virtual reality.

In its 10th year running, this year’s GTC could be described as pure play for adults with several robotic demonstrations in action (even ones serving drinks 😉), a Lego city, self-driving cars on display, and of course, virtual reality. And if you’re wondering what Teradici Cloud Access Software has to do with it all, it’s the behind-the-scenes creation of this type of fun that also makes this event worthy of attending.

Cloud Access Software was chosen as the secure remoting solution for multiple partner demonstrations and here’s why.

A video recap in less than 3 minutes:

Highlights:

NVIDIA

Cloud Access Software and the newly announced PCoIP Ultra™ were behind-the-scenes providing secure remote access for a demonstration showing off the NVIDIA RTX server and Quadro vDWS. Using assets from the Netflix award-winning show Lost in Space, VFX artist Daniela, was there to highlight how truly amazing content creation, workflows, and GPU-accelerated rendering can be with virtual workstations. Daniela demonstrated the high level of interactivity using a Wacom tablet – an experience so smooth that it should make you question why you aren’t taking advantage of virtual workstations today.

This was also the first public demonstration of PCoIP Ultra technology. We here at Teradici recognize how new content formats and display technologies are continually pushing the boundaries of performance within virtualized environments. So, it was only time our widely trusted PCoIP protocol was enhanced with faster performance, interactivity, and flexibility! There are so many exciting things to share about this enhanced protocol, so be sure to check it out on our webpage.

AWS

PCoIP technology supported demonstrations of real-time rendering in the cloud using Amazon EC2 G3 instances – designed for graphics-intensive applications such as 3D visualizations, mid to high-end virtual workstations, virtual application software, 3D rendering, application streaming, video encoding, gaming, and more. Remarkable lossless video compression was demonstrated using 3DS Max, Maya, and Houdini as the applications. A PCoIP Zero Client was also key as the endpoint hardware solution.

GOOGLE CLOUD

Cloud Access Software supported demonstrations that defied expectations of content creation in the cloud – and that is, how it can in fact be accelerated. The key point here was that with files stored in the cloud and with secure remote access to it from anywhere, anyone can share, access, and collaborate on work instantly. Attendees also learned how virtual workstations enables organizations to deploy virtual workstations on-demand for immediate scaling of their workforce.

MICROSOFT AZURE

An Azure virtual workstation near Dallas was accessed and used on the show floor in San Jose with the help of Cloud Access Software. Attendees had the opportunity to view highly-responsive, high-definition renderings with true color accuracy using Avid Media Composer (one of the most widely used video editing applications in media & entertainment). Everything was demonstrated in real-time with low latency giving the experience of a local computer (in fact, better!).

Lastly, the Teradici booth rounded out the array of applications and industries Cloud Access Software is capable of supporting. Along with a Wacom tablet, we showed how Krita, VLC, and Da Vinci Resolve can be used with a high level of interactivity. But the highlight would also be support for JT2GO, a popular application for 3D modeling. Despite the popularity of Cloud Access Software in media and entertainment (M&E), industries like manufacturing and engineering can also leverage the technology, even with AutoCAD. Cloud Access Software not only supports a wide variety of graphics-intensive applications, but also multicloud deployments (ie. on-premises, private and public cloud and hybrid).
