One of the biggest differences we’re starting to see between before the pandemic started and after is the acceleration of remote work options, not just as a temporary measure, but as a permanent shift in the way people are thinking about work and its location. And we’re seeing this shift permeate its way through even the way that desktops and workstations are being acquired and deployed. The ability to offer location flexibility has started to impact workstations right from the point of sale – it’s no longer “nice to have” but rather “must have” for IT teams supporting remote workforces.

Teradici has been working with our ecosystem partners on the forefront of this shift, and we’re pleased to be able to offer customers a wide range of options for supporting remote workforces to provide organizations with the ability to build the best solutions for their own unique needs. An example of this is a recent collaboration with Lenovo to simplify the provisioning of Lenovo P Series Workstation Solutions with Teradici Cloud Access Plus.

Lenovo-Workstation-Halo-Image-revLenovo customers can now choose Teradici Cloud Access Plus subscriptions during the initial purchase process, to enable secure, highly responsive remote access to their Lenovo P Series Workstation Solutions right from day one. The solution allows customers to choose from a wide range of client side technologies, from thin client to workstation class clients. It brings Lenovo’s and Teradici’s expertise together to meet the needs of organizations with remote workers who require the power of a workstation for graphics-intensive workloads like those in visual effects, broadcasting, animation, and computer assisted design (CAD).

Jellyfish Pictures, a UK-based visual effects and animation studio, recently deployed this joint solution to enable remote reviews of daily work completed by VFX and animation departments.

“With Covid19 upon us we are now at a stage where 100% of our staff are working remotely, connecting to our data centre via PCoIP from Teradici. To ensure our artists can carry out their tasks to the best of their abilities remotely, we fully recommended the ThinkStation Tiny line of products from Lenovo.
An essential everyday task for our artists are daily reviews, across both our VFX and animation departments. When connecting to the data centre, the Lenovo Tiny enables smooth 4K playback via PCoIP Ultra, having no issue with decoding the remote users’ sessions at high resolutions.”

- Jeremy Smith, CTO Jellyfish Pictures

Initially available in the U.K. and Ireland through Getech, Teradici’s channel partner in the region, the solution is expected to expand into European markets through joint Lenovo and Teradici channel partners over the coming months.
