HP Teradici
HP Teradici is the inventor of the PCoIP remote display protocol and develops the Engineering Emmy-Award-winning HP Anyware (formerly Teradici CAS) to deliver the best virtual and remote desktop experience in the world.
In a number of articles posted this week on Animation Magazine, IBC365, and Broadcast Now, Jellyfish Pictures’ CTO Jeremy Smith shares how moving to the cloud makes sense for VFX firms.
Chances are, you’ve seen some of Jellyfish Pictures’ work. The award-winning studio’s output is found in blockbuster features like Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and Kingsman: The Secret Service, and on television, in productions like Black Mirror and Planet Dinosaur.
Jellyfish worked on approximately 150 shots for last year's blockbuster, Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.
The Jellyfish team is already known for its creative innovation; in Building a virtually perfect studio, we get a peek at their technical innovation:
"At Jellyfish Pictures we believe that the cloud will be instrumental in running a more creative, efficient, and economically viable VFX studio, both in terms of rendering solutions and in terms of facilitating virtual offices." (IBC365)
Jeremy and his team built a cloud rendering solution using PCoIP that enabled not only remote workers to collaborate, but savings in time and money.
As the Jellyfish team have grown and added locations, the London-based company have found an innovative way to scale up their technical deployments to match their ever-growing team of talent - by opening Europe's first virtual VFX studio:
"With no hardware housed onsite, the Oval studios operate in a completely PC over IP (PCoIP) environment and are powered by the Brixton facility, which accommodates the new studios’ servers." (Animation Magazine)
Jeremy and his team built a cloud rendering solution using PCoIP that enabled not only remote workers to collaborate, but savings in time and money. The setup allows for the studio to grow and shrink the workforce as required and not be restricted by hardware. Their desktops can also be managed from one central site for security and ease of administration.
At Teradici, we're excited to see companies find innovative ways to accelerate their business growth and Jellyfish Pictures has a great success story in remote access cloud adoption.
Learn how Cloud Access Software can help you deliver graphics-intensive applications from the cloud.
