With the latest release of 21.07 and 21.10, CAS Manager now offers IT Admins the flexibility to perform in-place upgrades and backup-restore as a fail-safe option for migrating to a new CAS Manager server.

The in-place upgrade allows IT Admins to:

  • Upgrade your existing installation to the new version with your existing configuration
  • Maintain the Mongo DB and Vault databases over upgrades
  • Stay up to date with all upcoming features and fixes with each new Teradici quarterly release (subscribe for news about the latest updates.)

In-place upgrade is the most preferred method of keeping your IT applications and servers up to date because of its simplicity—all your business logic, settings, and configurations are preserved. It doesn’t require setting up a new virtual machine. However, we do recommend backing up your data as part of business continuity process and contingency best practices.

If you would like to move your CAS Manager virtual machine to a new one, you can use the backup and restore utility to migrate. Migration to a new server allows IT Admins to:

  • Backup MongoDB and Vault from a single node CAS Manager
  • Restore to the same CAS Manager instance, or be applied to a separated virtual machine that has CAS Manager pre-installed

With these significant enhancements, CAS Manager single node installation is now ready to be fully deployed and managed in your production environment.

Please see the latest Release Notes for more information about in-place upgrades and backup-restore features, and subscribe for updates.
