HP Teradici
HP Teradici is the inventor of the PCoIP remote display protocol and develops the Engineering Emmy-Award-winning HP Anyware (formerly Teradici CAS) to deliver the best virtual and remote desktop experience in the world.
As we begin 2023, organizations are more focused than ever on providing employees with a seamless work experience—no matter where they are working from, what type of workflow they have, or what kind of endpoints they use.
HP Anyware, the digital workspaces solution based on PC-over-IP (PCoIP®) technology, allows people to work where and how they work best. Our HP Anyware 23.01 release offers new usability and collaboration features that will help users to be their most productive selves while working from anywhere with network connectivity.
Easily monitor endpoint connections with HP Anyware Connection Health
The HP Anyware team continues to innovate on the software, adding new features that will help end users and IT administrators achieve the most optimal and seamless experience with Anyware wherever they are.
Now you can check the health of your PCoIP connection in just a few clicks with HP Anyware Connection Health. This new feature enables users with all technical abilities—both graphics intensive technical users and non-technical users—to gain better insight into the health of their connections to digital workspaces so they can work more efficiently.
HP Anyware Connection Health provides end users both a visual and textual overview to indicate the strength of the connection—Good, Fair, or Poor—to help them make a quick assessment.
The new feature also makes IT administrators’ lives easier. At a single glance, admins will be able to see the health of user connections through information such as packet loss and latency.
Users can access Connection Health from the in-session HP Anyware menu bar. Click on the Health tab and get all the details you need about your connection.
You can see how HP Anyware Connection Health works in the video below.
Enjoy precision control in collaboration mode
In October last year, we announced the first version of collaboration in HP Anyware. Collaboration control in the 23.01 release has levelled up.
Now, alongside screen sharing and mouse and keyboard takeover, we’ve launched a new collaboration management console that streamlines the process of adding and accepting new users or ‘collaborators’ to the shared session. The cleaner interface makes it simpler to see a list of connected users, as well as enables the collaborator to only have the option to view the session or to have input control. Collaboration session owners can also enable or disable input control for collaborators.

Security and compatibility updates
The HP Anyware 23.01 release will include Federated User Authentication for Anyware Manager as a Service, which adds a new layer of security for users. This security feature will allow organizations to use their own Identity Provider as the source to verify the identity of users and to authenticate them. Federated User Authentication will support Okta IdP and Azure Active Directory.
Andrew Waite Brown, EMEA Software Sales at HP Teradici, recorded a product walkthrough of HP Anyware's 23.01 release that you can watch below.
Migrate to HP Anyware from ZCentral Remote Boost and RGS 7
HP Anyware combines the best of Teradici CAS and ZCentral Remote Boost, and we’ll continue to add more features with every release beyond the scope of the original software. The Anyware Connection Health feature is more than either Teradici CAS or ZCentral Remote Boost had before, and we will keep expanding our functionality regularly.
As Anyware is built on Teradici CAS, existing CAS subscribers didn’t need to make any changes when Anyware was officially launched in July 2022.
For ZCentral Remote Boost users, it is crucial that they subscribe to HP Anyware. January 2023 marks the end of being able to access free ZCentral Remote Boost v22 licenses that were adopted in 2022. Users with those licenses must purchase the HP Anyware Professional subscription to continue being able to use V22 and receive software support. This will also make transitioning to HP Anyware much easier as ZCentral Remote Boost is phased out.
Note that HP will discontinue support for older software, as is the case with RGS 7. Support for ZCentral Remote Boost V20 will end February 2023.
Download our migration guide to learn about migrating from RGS 7 and ZCentral Remote Boost to HP Anyware.
More features coming to HP Anyware soon
HP Anyware collaboration will soon support more than two users. The multi-user feature is expected to be in the beta release in Q1 of 2023.
Federated authentication will have an extension with Single Sign-On (SSO) functionality when connecting to a Windows host. Essentially, the user will only need to authenticate once (using federated authentication with an identity provider) and from then on, they can directly connect to their digital workspace or remote workstation. SSO is currently in beta.
Mac users can also expect more support for devices with Apple Silicon chips. Following our release last year for Macs powered by M1 chips, Apple Silicon support for PCoIP clients will be in the beta release for 23.04.
We will continue to add new features and functionality to help businesses future-proof their infrastructure. Be the first to learn about new features for HP Anyware by signing up for updates. Existing Anyware customers can get early access to beta releases here.
