HP Anyware is the enterprise software that IT needs to keep people and teams productive with secure access to their digital workspaces from any mix of infrastructure (cloud, data center, edge, workstation) and end-user device (PC, Mac, laptop, tablet, thin and zero client), anywhere.

The HP Anyware team continues to put security first for our customers. In 2022, we announced that our Tera 2 PCoIP Zero Client had been submitted for Federal Information Processing Standards Publications (FIPS) 140-2 validation. HP's Tera 2 has now achieved validation and been added to the Cryptographic Module Validation Program (CMVP)’s Validated Modules List (we are listed under Teradici Corporation). Previously, we had been included in the Implementation Under Test list.

FIPS 140-2 is a standard developed by the United States and Canadian Federal Governments to set security requirements for cryptographic modules. These parameters help ensure added protection for sensitive government data.

“The FIPS 140-2 validation is a huge step forward for the Tera 2 Zero Clients,” said Arjen van der Meulen, HP Anyware Global Product Management. “This is an expectation from our customers around the world and knowing that we are invested in achieving the highest levels of security for our product will give them more confidence when implementing our Zero Clients in their hybrid work environments.”

With this new certification, HP will be able to support hybrid customers in markets that require high cryptographic security standards when accessing remote desktops. These organizations will include government bodies at the US and Canadian Federal level and increased interest from organizations worldwide, as well as in the healthcare, finance, IoT, education, training, and critical infrastructure businesses. You can see the Tera 2 certification on the NIST website.

Speaking of HP reaching this last step, Matthew Appler, CEO, Corsec Security, Inc., hired to guide HP through the FIPS validation process, said, “Corsec would like to congratulate the HP Anyware team on successfully completing FIPS 140-2 level 1 validation of the Tera2 PCoIP Zero Client!”

PC-over-IP (PCoIP®) technology is already trusted by over 15 million users, including global government agencies. The PCoIP Zero Clients are purpose-built to receive and display pixel images, so no data ever leaves the users’ secure infrastructure, whether it is a private data center, public cloud or even standalone remote workstation.

PCoIP Zero Clients afford additional security for our customers, as they are ultra-secure stateless endpoints and connect to remote desktop deployments via any PCoIP connection, including Amazon WorkSpaces, VMware Horizon, or HP Anyware. The HP Anyware team continuously enhances PCoIP Zero Clients by releasing regular firmware and security updates as well as new features such as additional smartcard support. Customers can provision these updates and patches easily via the PCoIP Management Console.
