Teradici
Teradici is the creator of the PCoIP remoting protocol technology and Cloud Access Software, the leading solution for a cloud-ready future. The company, founded in 2004, is focused on its core mission of seamless delivery of workstations and applications for end-users.
This week we’re at AWS re:Invent 2019 in Las Vegas, and we want to fill you in on an interesting joint solution being demonstrated with Tehama and IGEL: “Secure Virtual Rooms”.
Our collaboration with Tehama and IGEL delivers a flexible, scalable, and secure “on-demand approach” to VDI and DaaS workspaces. For growing companies, this new turnkey experience provides the ability to build desktops on-demand - quick, reliable, and secure virtual workstations within minutes that are accessible from anywhere in the world and at any time.
How Does Teradici Fit into the Equation?
Tehama Rooms are built on Amazon WorkSpaces and provide virtual desktop environments connected via the Teradici PCoIP® protocol. They can be configured with assets, software applications and IGEL devices through Tehama’s encrypted secrets vault and firewall rules. With the inclusion of the Teradici PCoIP protocol in WorkSpaces, the joint solution can deliver high quality visualization experiences for all user types, even power users with graphics-intensive workstation requirements that may include GPU rendering.
How Does it Work?
Tehama Rooms are configured, and ready-to-deploy desktops based on Windows or Linux and accessible within minutes. Tehama builds virtual Rooms on Amazon Web Services and provides secured perimeters for Amazon Workspaces with support for the many combinations of graphical and task-specific workloads. The cost-effective, on-demand solution leverages IGEL OS which comes with the PCoIP Software Client, providing a powerful virtual PC experience - great for portability and simplified connectivity.
Why is this Important?
This ‘ready-when-you-are’ service offers the same benefits as VDI on private servers without the hassle of owning and maintaining all the infrastructure and without the up-front investment. This offers a number of useful advantages, the most important being:
- Remote and mobile workers can use Tehama Rooms with a fully functional virtual desktop from anywhere in the world while the company still retains close control of its data and intellectual assets. For example, users with laptops can boot from an IGEL UD Pocket to load a secured Tehama Room without risk of man-in-the-middle attacks or having data on laptops stolen or compromised.
Teradici is running an information session along with IGEL, and the Tehama team at AWS re:Invent – stop by the Tehama booth #2810 to learn more about the joint solution. We hope to see you before the show ends!
