Arguably, Microsoft’s launch of Windows Virtual Desktop (WVD) was one of the most talked about developments in the enterprise cloud space over the past year. With WVD, enterprises can provide virtualized applications and Windows 10 remote desktops for employees on Microsoft Azure. It’s designed to offer a great remote desktop experience for Windows and Office users, and it offers support for some specialized cases, like compatibility with Windows legacy software.

We know that a lot of customers have mixed deployments - that is, they have some workers who need support for graphics-intensive tasks, along with others who are more task-based office workers. Or perhaps they have a mix of operating systems - Windows along with Linux or Chromebook users, for example.

Enterprise teams need to integrate existing Teradici PCoIP solutions with WVD for support of those different use cases. And we’re happy to report that we can support them with Cloud Access Software

Currently, Cloud Access Software can be deployed alongside instances of Windows Virtual Desktop and managed through Cloud Access Manager in a 1:1 configuration (single user). This can provide a solution for teams who may have an office with a larger proportion of task-based workers who could see resource and cost efficiencies from switching to WVD, but who also need to provide a subset of high-performance workstations. Cloud Access Software is compatible with an array of client devices, including easy-to-manage, dependable and secure PCoIP Zero Clients that can be quickly provisioned for any virtual deployment.

Rest assured that we have more plans for how Cloud Access Software and WVD will work together in future - watch this space for updates.
